Video Premiere: The Boy Detective – ‘Good Year’

The Boy Detective

The Boy Detective are back with a new single for this Friday. You might remember we had the pleasure of premiering a holiday-themed single from them back in December called “I Renounce Verdukianism!” and now the Detroit ska/punk act are back, fresh from winning an AltPress poll for Top 5 Midwestern Bands, with the second single off the band’s upcoming album Disco Lunch, which is due out November 7 from Punkerton Records.

Today, the band are debuting the video for “Good Year” off of Disco Lunch, which officially releases tomorrow but you can catch it here today. The spirited ska/punk anthem is brimming with an infectious ska/punk energy that’s a ton of fun. The song was recorded by Roger Lima or Less Than Jake fame, so with a solid ska pedigree, it promises to become an instant ska classic.

“Just when you thought that the person in the mirror can’t change for the best, The Boy Detective gives you a template for how to turn things around and have a … pretty good year,” says vocalist Benny Capaul. “With all the garbage the world has to offer, we must find hope in the future by changing what we can, ourselves.”

Check out the track below.
