Husband-wife indie rock duo The Cle Elum are back. We were fortunate enough to premiere their video for their song “Old Folks” last year. Back then, we mentioned they run a company called Affordable Tour Solutions, which provides tour support for bands like Nada Surf, Manchester Orchestra, The Get Up Kids, Bright Eyes, and more. Well, now they’re jumping on a tour with one of their clients, as The Cle Elum will be opening for Nada Surf on their upcoming tour to support the new Nada Surf album, Moon Mirror.
Today, The Cle Elum are debuting their music video for their cover of Nick Gilder’s “Here Comes the Night.” A quirky, angular cover that builds up to a really outstanding ending, it’s perfectly complimented by the oddball video that features cut outs from magazines animated into bizarre contortions.
“Growing up in Canada, Nick Gilder was huge,” the band say about the cover. “‘Here Comes The Night’ wasn’t as huge as ‘Hot Child In The City’ here in the U.S., so we’re excited to turn people onto it with our nod. We can’t wait to hit the road with our friends Nada Surf this spring. Nada Surf always have amazing openers (Lady Gaga even) so we’re super excited to play some of our favorite venues with great people.”
