Matt Arbogast is the creative force behind the project The Gunshy, and he’s back with a new album called Hurricane Umbrellas. The new record is inspired by Arbogast’s uncle and early artistic influence named Rod, a painter whose creative spirit is at the heart of Hurricane Umbrellas. Produced by Sean Bonnette from AJJ and featuring members of Magnolia Electric Co. and Signals Midwest, the new album is due out December 5.
Today, The Gunshy are debuting the first single and video from the new album called “Buzzer Beater.” With a hazy melody and a laid-back pace, “Buzzer Beater” is a slow drawl of an indie-rock tune. The almost psychedelic video utilizes animation over footage of The Gunshy playing the song to make a joint experience between video and song that’s truly symbiotic. Check out the video below.
