Colorado Springs punk rockers The Sleights are getting ready to launch their sophomore LP, entitled This One’s Gonna Hurt, which they just announced today. The new album is due out on April 25 from a joint operation between Rad Girlfriend Records and What’s Left Records.
Today, The Sleights are debuting the music video for their new single “Already Gone,” which features guest vocals from the illustrious Jen Pop, aka Jen Razavi of pop-punk phenoms The Bombpops. Razavi’s vocals perfectly compliment the classic punk edge on this killer track, but what really completes the whole thing is the adorable Lego-animation video for the track.
“The track ‘Already Gone’ deals with loss of love and the feeling of being alone even though you are still with the person,” says vocalist and guitarist Luke Blanton. “Jen Razavi of The Bombpops was kind enough to sing on this song and absolutely killed it. We go way back, since I worked with The Bombpops as their tour manager for multiple U.S. and European dates. She’s one of my favorite people, and there is nothing better than singing with your friends. We are both big Methadones fans, and the song was influenced by Dan Vapid’s lyrics—Hell, even the title is a tip of the hat to him. I love this song and love playing it live.”
