Brooklyn-based alternative rock band Vaureen are back with their second single, “Corvus Mellori,” from their upcoming EP Leveler. “Corvus Mellori” features drummer Kellii Scott (Failure) and bassist Michael MacIvor (Candiria and LaMacchia). Mario Quintero mixed and mastered the track. The song is accompanied by a video directed by John LaMacchia. Sean Ageman of Washed Up Media filmed and edited the video.

Vocalist and guitar player Andrea Horne shares her thoughts:
“Looking down at a pillow with a raven on it, I decided to look for inspiration for lyrics in the myths and lore surrounding the bird as a symbol. Why has it become a staple of ominous, gothic iconography? An intelligent animal becoming an iconic symbol of human storytelling is an interesting idea.”
Leveler will be released on Friday, August 22, through director John LaMacchia’s own independent record label, Rising Pulse Records.
