Chicago’s With Patience are an exciting blend of post-punk, post-hardcore, and just a little bit of melodic metal. Made up of members of math rock band hose.got.cable, punk group Douglass Kings, post-hardcore ensemble Alkaloid, and electro-punk band Careful, they have literal decades of experience between the three of them, and they bring all of their influences and backgrounds to the table, especially since all three members trade off lead vocal duties.
Today, With Patience are debuting the tracking and lyric video for their new single “FOMO” off their recently released EP Three of Swords.
“All three of us are extremely excited with this release,” explains drummer Lee Diamond about the new EP. “The cover art by Micah Ulrich is amazing, and to us represents the three of us stabbing the idea of not being in a band. Somehow, through wizardry I presume, J Robbins and Bob Weston are able to take my recordings and make them sound world class and totally representative of how we really sound. All three of us are dads and happy family guys, but we definitely yearned to rekindle the embers of band life. We all feel so lucky to have found each other, because now we are making what we all believe is the best music of our lives.”
The song shows echoes of Fugazi in the rhythm section while the guitar plays a more traditional, straight-forward punk sound over the post-hardcore rhythm. It’s a must-listen for fans of, not only post-hardcore, but art-punk in general. Check out the exciting new track in the video below.
