Chicago trio With Patience are once again bringing back their unique blend post-punk, post-hardcore, and melodic metal along with their literal decades of experience between the three band members. We had the pleasure of debuting their single “FOMO” off their EP Three of Swords almost exactly a year ago. Their new track, “It’s Time,” off their upcoming album Triptych, due out May 9, sees the band bringing out their Fugazi-influence but making it a bit noisier and throwing in some blast beats.
“Some of the lyrics and ideas in ‘It’s Time’ have been kicking around in my head for decades,” says vocalist and guitarist Chris Wade, “but the idea of Doomsday has been part of our culture since long before that. The hubris it takes to assume you can ride it out in camos with some canned food is especially fascinating to me.”
“We asked our friend John Mohr (Deep Tunnel Project, Tar) to look as newscaster-y as possible for this video shoot,” says band member Lee Diamond. “It was the day after his 60th birthday, and two days after his amazing birthday party with J Robbins, Arcwelder, Jon Langford and an impromptu Tar reunion. John, Carrie (Weston) and Ali (Wade) had fantastic comic sensibilities, and I can’t tell you how much great stuff I had to leave out when editing it.”
