With a unique blend of classic punk, glam, and power-pop, New York’s WYLDLIFE are just good, old-fashioned, fun rock ‘n’ roll. It’s hard not to feel a sense of nostalgia in their music, even if it’s a nostalgia for a time you’ve never been to.
Today, they’re debuting the video for their latest single, “Fast Dreams,” their first new music since 2020’s Year of the Snake, which they recently released as part of a seven-inch with the B-side being a cover of Tom Petty’s “You Don’t Know How It Feels.” It’s appropriate that the B-side is a Tom Petty song, because there’s a hint of his own brand of roots rock in here. It’s a genuine, down-to-earth pop song that’s likely to have wide appeal.
For the video, the band transformed themselves into 8-bit video game characters in a really unique video created by their college friend Alex Derwick. “We have already conquered every other music video format in our tenure as musicians,” says vocalist Dave Feldman. “So it was time to go animated. We’re already animated guys by nature.” Check out the fun video below.
