A Shrewdness of Apes have won a reputation as DC’s premiere prog band, and nowhere is that more apparent than on their fifth official EP, Mythology, which they put out on March 19. Today, we’re spotlighting their new video for the track “Ghost Song,” which premiered on Thursday. Taken from the personal stories of friends and family’s experiences with unexplained phenomena, it weaves a complex prog tapestry that is likely to leave you just as unsettled as a real paranormal encounter. The spooky video perfectly encapsulates the fear of the unknown in very subtle ways, making for a excellent accompaniment to the song.
“We had one day to shoot this video because the location would soon no longer be available,” explains lyricist and guitarist Ian Mabley about the video. “But we pulled it off; the shoot was a blast. We planned to shoot the whole day and finished two hours early. Everyone did a great job.”
