If you haven’t heard of Gas Station Boner Pills yet, you have no idea what you’re missing. I had the pleasure of catching them at last year’s Punk Rock Saves Lives Festival and they proved to be dumb, fast, and a whole lot of fun. Of particular interest were their brilliantly funny covers, most notably their cover of Kelis’ pop classic “Milkshake,” which they turned into a hilarious punk song. Well, they recently released a new album called Welcome to the Shit Show, and it’s time to show off another one of their uproariously funny covers.
Today, we’re spotlighting their video for the song “Low” off the new album, which just so happens to be a cover of Flo Rida and T-Pain’s crunk classic (from the days when people still said “crunk”) “Low” from 2007. While keeping some of the same party vibe from the original song, this is definitely crunk going punk, as the band turn it into a hard rocking punk song with a debaucherous video in a mansion.
“What better way to desecrate someone else’s song than to pretend we work in a mansion we couldn’t even dream of being able to afford?” say the band about the new video. Check it out below.
