Video Spotlight: The Georgia Thunderbolts – ‘Wait’ (feat. Kurt Ozan)

The Georgia Thunderbolts

Atlanta-based Southern rockers The Georgia Thunderbolts have pulled off the impossible in climbing up from their humble beginnings busking at gas stations to having the honor of sharing stages with the likes of Blackberry Smoke, Black Stone Cherry, and Deep Purple. Building off their reputation, they released their sophomore album Rise Above it All last month via Mascot Records, which offers a unique blend of rock, blues, and Americana.

Today, we’re spotlighting their video for the single “Wait” off the new album, which features a guest appearance from multi-instrumentalist Kurt Ozan on pedal steel. “‘Wait’ is definitely about the more patient side of things,” shares frontman TJ Lyle. “It could be relationships, it could be just time in general. The message is, when you’re down and out and become impatient, remember to take a step back and really focus on the end goal. Could be love, could be position—It could really be anything. I say love in the song because I think it pertains to anything universally. Why do something if you don’t love it? Patience and understanding are the key!”

With a laid-back classic country feel and soulful vocals, it’s hard not to be moved by a track like “Wait.” The video features the band playing the song in a church, and it couldn’t possibly get any more southern and rustic than this. Check out the video below.
