The beloved music fest in the west, Psycho Las Vegas, brings big-name metal acts to Vegas every summer. This year, some of the headliners and supporting acts are the expected top names in doom, and some are very unexpected headliners and guests.
Dimmu Borgir will be headlining this year, a surprise, in itself, as the band is known for playing symphonic, atmospheric black metal rather than the doom or psych rock that the fest normally offers. The Hellacopters, Godflesh, Sun O))), Enslaved, High on Fire, CKY, Red Fang, Eyehategod, Pallbearer, Mutoid Man, Batushka and Voivod are some of the other big names on the bill.
In addition to the bands playing, Andrew W.K., Nicke Andersson of Entombed and The Hellacopters and Johanna Sadonis of Lucifer will be playing DJ sets. There is also a special pool party, which will be accompanied by music from Wolves In The Throne Room, Fireball Ministry, Elder and Young And In The Way.
Even if this year’s event isn’t as strictly doomy as years past, the lineup looks incredible as far as offering a wide array of metal to suit everyone’s taste. Psycho Las Vegas will take place August 17-19 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Get tickets to the fest here.
