The sludgiest of the sludgy, Coffin Torture are going to take the underground by storm with their first full-length offering.

Skating the thin line between sludge/doom and classic death metal, there is nothing apologetic about Coffin Torture. With gnarly, 90s-esque cover art and a title like Dismal Planet, it’s no surprise that the band has a lot of Eye Hate God influence in their sound. It is definitely a mark of pride that they are the first group signed to Sludgelord Records, the digital label partnering with the well-known doom blog. The band personifies all things dank and sludgy.

“Bolted Down Boiled to Grease” is the most relentless song on the album, pummeling listeners with an aural assault that truly lives up to the track’s name. The title track is also very strong, and probably the catchiest song on the record.

Coffin Torture is truly only for those who want the full, no-holds-barred sludge experience. If you’ve been looking for something heavy and dystopian to get you through the long and dismal days, than look no further.
