Polyvinyl Records has had an impressive year, and that’s seemingly not going to end yet with Dusted’s first album in six years.

Probably better known as an original member of the noisy electronic sensations Holy Fuck, Brian Borcherdt’s alter ego as Dusted brings an entirely different version of sounds, where haze, minimalism, and warm melody find their way into an introspective, ambient approach.

An odd version of dreamy folk that relies heavily on guitar and Borcherdt’s loose vocals, there are also lo-fi pop moments brimming with experimental ideas that are both blurry and fuzzy and may subtly hint at Holy Fuck, but have much more in common with Low, which could never be a bad thing.
