Danny Noguerias, one fourth of NO WIN, has produced records for Together Pangea, No Parents, and Mean Jeans. After their debut EP release in 2015, NO WIN is ready for their LP release, downey, due on 3/22 through Dangerbird Records.
NO WIN’s sound is similar to acts like Joyce Manor, Summer Cannibals, and other similar artists. The craft behind their debut album is the simple motivation of sharing melancholic memories of Noguerias’ hometown, Downey, CA. It’s a melodic pop-punk record that brings up the glorious-yet-bittersweet moments of growing up.
Noguerias says, “It’s a good representation of where I come from, and it’s nostalgic for certain elements of the past while still being sad about them.” From the energetic opening track, “After Your Legs,” to the whimsical feel of young love on, “Being Teen,” the record rides through all the waves of young adult life.
“I want people to walk away from this record with a weird mix of emotions,” says Nogueiras. He nailed this one on the head; it’s a record filled with weeping memories that brings a sweet sense of joy and bliss.
