British death metal band As The World Dies will unleash their second studio album Nebula on March 21 via Reaper Entertainment.
Band leader and death metal veteran Scott Fairfax explains, “This album is the quintessence of what As The World Dies is all about. We pushed our musical boundaries to create something both brutal and thought-provoking. It’s heavier, darker, and more profound than anything we’ve done before.”
As The World Dies members Scott Fairfax (lead guitars/keyboards), Darren Mcgillivray (guitars), Chris Mcgrath (drums,) Bill Richmond (bass), and Jay Price (vocals), have consistently created beyond boundaries, unapologetically bringing a progressive and brutal sound to the table and then some. The album dives into themes of apocalyptic prophesies and human insignificance epitomized by the looming presence of the asteroid Apophis, a key inspiration behind the band’s cosmic death metal sound. Adding a progressive touch with atmospheric ‘80s synths and a haunting industrial edge, Nebula expands the boundaries of the genre while maintaining its relentless death metal core.
The first track, “Apophis,” delves into progressive beginnings and forges deep into a story telling thematic style. “Consumed,” going brutal from the get-go, is gut-wrenching to the core. “Dark Oblivion” is a clear emotional sound of doom and destruction. ” I am The One”, begins slowly with a beautiful piano and synthesizers, slicing into the album. “Blind Destiny” hits hard with absolute brutality and headbanging blastbeats. The whole album presents haunting and hypnotic, unforgettable metal artistry and musicianship.
