Bloodshed Remains
Peace
(Demons Run Amok Entertainment)
Ybbs An Der Donau, Austria is home to Bloodshed Remains. Peace does not seem like a sardonic tongue in cheek commentary here. The band chooses to open the title track with a sample about non-violence. How that peace comes to fruition, that’s up to debate. It may require humanity’s extinction. Either way, BRS surrenders a sincere plea for the factions of this earth to get together.
Bloodshed Remains take a punker, jangly bass approach to their fast metallic hardcore. “Burnt Out” has a cool breakdown in the hook which makes it infectious. The initial guitar line has a smart metal fervor, while a punky drum beat propels the emotion. “Victim of Circumstance” builds nicely. The point is not to be the darkest or the heaviest. The music is dark and heavy, but self-aware and more focused on engaging the audience.
Bloodshed Remains offer four tracks on Peace. They are short but fierce. DRA press this 12” in purple, sky blue or black. BSR have released a split (2014 with Awake), a 2010 album, and a 2012 album. Peace has BSR flex its boundaries beyond the harsher, death metal leanings and submit a grittier release. It pays off. It’s a good addition to their solid catalog.
