Album Review: Buzzcocks – “The Way”

Buzzcocks
The Way
(1-2-3-4-Go! Records)

Few bands will ever be as consistent for as long as Buzzcocks. On this, their first album since 2006 and ninth overall, Shelley and Diggle deliver their patented fuzzed out melodies with traces of surf rock, hard rock and influences from both Ramones and The Beatles. Shelley’s voice sounds great, especially considering his age, and the hooks and riff heavy sounds are a great reminder of the legacy these legends are still cultivating. I’m sure diehard fans will pick this album apart and find flaws, but I’m hearing mostly incredible blasts of punk inspired rock. (Tom Haugen)
