Multi-instrumentalist Xavier Cafeine hails from Montreal and plays all the instruments here that largely revolve around New Wave and alt-rock. Though it’s a break up album, Cafeine’s sound is bright, anthemic, and tips its hat to punk while still being a rock album at heart. The songs are in both English and French, but the universal guitar work and gritty melodies on the keys ensure that anyone with a penchant for enthusiastic and sincere song craft will find something to enjoy here.
