Loud alternative rock with a heavy industrial aspect, Rome’s Dope Stars Inc. are reminiscent of an updated version of Ministry and White Zombie with an ’80s synth angle. It’s hard hitting and dark yet with moments of electronic-pop tunefulness and a heavy emphasis on grooves and thriving guitar riffs. Amazingly, this fifth album from the Italians will sit well with metal heads, ravers or even the indie-rock crowd who want their Postal Service imitation bands on steroids. (Tom Haugen)
