Goblin Rebirth
Goblin Rebirth
(Relapse Records)
Goblin Rebirth, is the latest incarnation of Italian prog rock band Goblin and features bassist Fabio Pignatelli and drummer Agostino Marangolo, longtime Goblin members. Goblin Rebirth’s self-titled debut is a fresh offering of music reflecting the roots of the previous band, whose tunes were used in the soundtrack of Dario Argento’s Suspiria and George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Eight instrumental tracks, with the exception of an eerie synthesized voice used in the chorus of “Evil in the Machine”, the songs run the gamut in mood and sound, from the chilling intensity of “Book of Skulls” to the ethereal soundscape of “Forest.” (Charlie Steffens)
