Album Review: Kid Moxie – “1888”

Kid Moxie
1888
(Self-Released)

Originally from Greece, Elena Charbila, AKA Kid Moxie, describes her cinematic, synth-rock as gutter pop. A fitting description, her art driven texturing is also eerie and cryptic, occasionally wandering off into ambient territory, while still containing an electro-pop accessibility. With contributions from Angelo Badalementi, Clint Mansell and Gaslamp Killer, Charbila makes us wish the world was embracing Kid Moxie rather than Lana Del Rey. (Tom Haugen)
