A staple in the folk-rock scene since the early ’90s, Sexton’s 8th studio album stays true to the title, showcasing the many different variations of his soulful, eclectic sound. From full band rockers to sparse acoustic tunes while channeling vintage ideas as well as today’s current singer-songwriter trend, Sexton takes the high road lyrically with autobiographical subject matter. Despite the often different paths he takes musically (there’s even psyche-rock moments and near yodeling at times) his sage-like voice reminds us that these could only be Martin Sexton tunes.
