If ever there was a band whose catalog is over-saturated with live/compilation albums, it’s got to be Saxon. To say this isn’t too far off from being an exact replica of some of their previous live releases would be an understatement at the very the least.
I don’t want to come across as too negative here; the tracks on this double-live effort (which were recorded in Munich last year and Brighton earlier this year) are actually of exceptional quality. But by the time you get to the “bonus” material (which is nearly just a complete rehash of the first half, only this time recorded in Chicago), one feels a bit exhausted. There’s also several formats you can choose to get this in, which include either a DVD or Blu-Ray with them. So basically, this would make the perfect Christmas gift idea for any die hard Saxon fans you might know. The rest of us can do without.
