Film Review: Gimme Danger: Story of The Stooges

Gimme Danger
(Amazon Studios/Magnolia Pictures)

This impressive documentary directed by Jim Jarmusch chronicles the entire career (and then some) of legendary proto-punks The Stooges. From start to finish, it’s a fun, captivating ride, in the same vein as 2014’s Super Duper Alice Cooper film. Everything from the band’s humble beginnings, to their sift demise (and eventual reunion some two decades-plus later) is covered and put together stylishly. Credit should be given to the filmmakers for giving fairly equal attention to each band member, rather than just focusing on frontman Iggy Pop’s story. Definitely worth checking out if you’re as big of a music junkie as I am.
