Gory French metalers Abduction are back with a new record that combines experimentation and brutality.
“A l’Heure du Crépuscule” is a cryptic title to those who don’t speak French, and much of the rest of the record is equally as unfathomable. The lyrics and song titles are in French. The obsession of the band is plague doctors, and their sound is all over the place, frantically heavy, employing odd time signatures and quick riff changes to make some really weird death metal.
The title track of the record really stands out as being the strongest musically, and the most memorable. The rest of the record is strong, but for those who aren’t super well-versed in technicality, can get a little muddy at times.
Still, there is no denying this is a prolific record, perfect for those who crave heavy death and experimental riffing.
