Album Review: Bum City Saints – Self-Titled

Bum City Saints - Self Titled

Bum City Saints
Bum City Saints
(Pirates Press)

This second album from the Bay Area stalwarts starts out with searing melodic punk and gang vocals – a sure sign of a great listen ahead. At under 30 minutes, the LP blazes through fierce, speedy and catchy anthems, while siding more with the street than pop version of punk. While their sound isn’t far off from the Strung Out and Smoke Or Fire back catalog from you know what label, there’s definitely a greater emphasis on raw and grit but it’s still tuneful enough to keep you coming back repeatedly. Comes with a download code, too.
