A split EP that draws you in immediately with vivid artwork, Control and Harrington Saints get right to the point here, making the most of their quick blasts of punk rock on their respective sides. Control, from the UK, pepper their tunes with rugged sing-alongs, melodic guitar solos, a fiery rhythm section and all with an Oi! feel. It’s certainly not a new sound, but it’s done well and is sure to satiate any fan of the genre.
The Bay Area’s Harrington Saints take the political route with blazing punk and rougher vocals, keeping a pace with finger pointing hardcore, while maintaining a melodic undertone beneath plenty of intelligent fury. They, too, toss in some of their own wild guitar work, resulting in an effort that would surely make Bruce Roehrs (Rest In Power) proud.
