Album Review: DeeCRACKS – Sonic Delusions

DeeCRACKS - Sonic Delusions

For a decade and a half now Austria’s DeeCRACKS have been self-releasing fantastic albums of their driving brand of Ramones inspired punk rock, and managed to tour 4 continents. Now aligned with Pirates Press, the trio churn out 15 tunes in under 40 minutes of a no frills approach with strong melodies, punchy pop-punk and instantly memorable-ness that runs parallel to the early days of Lookout Records but with a more raw approach (imagine Screeching Weasel swallowing sandpaper) that even tosses in some surf rock and acoustic work.

All the hallmarks of timeless punk are present, i.e. plenty of head boppin’, toe tappin’ sing-a-longs, though the rawer aspect could soundtrack a knife fight, too. As always, Pirates Press offers several different colors of vinyl, and bright, expansive packaging with a download code.
