Flogging Molly
Life Is Good
(Vanguard Records)
On their sixth full-length release (and first album of new material in six years), Celtic punks Flogging Molly deliver the usual stuff once more on this optimistically-titled effort. Of course it’s not for everyone (but then again, their music never has been), but those into them should find at least something they like here. Highlights range from “Welcome to Adamstown,” “Crushed (Hostile Nations),” and “The Bride Wore Black,” but unless you’re in the exact right mood for it, it’s easy to become bored rather quickly. Casual Flogging Molly fans are better off just going back and listening to Drunken Lullabies once again instead.
