Album Review: Fuck On The Beach / Terlarang – Split

Fuck On The Beach/Terlarang - Split

Aggressive grindcore/powerviolence is often exactly what the doctor ordered, especially in today’s tense world of political intrigue and daily stressors.

The new split from Fuck On The Beach and Terlarang does not disappoint in the heavy grinding category. As would be expected, each song completely pummels the listener with new aggression. In their typical style, the Tokyo-based band churns out thrasher after thrasher, some highlights being “Eat ‘Em All” and “Never No Skin Fuck” (??) Terlarang, hailing from Malaysia, have a similar energy with a slightly more traditional, old-school-grind vibe. Positive song titles like “Stop the Hate” and “World Needs More Love” contrast amazingly with the abrasive tone and sound.

This is absolutely a record for die-hard fans of either band, or grind enthusiasts looking for something that rips. However, if you aren’t a grind fan, this will probably be lost on you. Only lovers of the fast and heavy need apply.
