The Kin
Modern Primitive
(Bleeding Hands)
The swansong album from the acclaimed trio, The Kin exit on a listen full of mammoth sized alt-rock where vocal harmonies from siblings Isaac and Thorald Koren are impossible to forget, and the powerful, dramatic songs shift from darker origins to far more interesting pop-rock than the average FM dial Coldplay clones. A forthright and emotional journey, though there’s sparse moments of beauty and grace to be found, the louder, anthemic offerings truly stand out against the legions of similar bands due to the strong, memorable songwriting. My guess is the response to this album from longtime fans as well as new ears will keep the Aussie brothers and New Yorker around.
