Lecherous Gaze - One Fifteen

Lecherous Gaze have spent the better part of their existence spitting out high octane punk n roll powered by guitarist Graham Clise’s righteous riffs and ripping solos, along with vocalist Zaryan Zaidi’s raw throated vocals. They’re a great mash up of Chuck Berry, the MC5 and the Damned. Basically, these dudes know how to rock your ass.

On their new album, One Fifteen, which just happens to wrapped in a gorgeous cover by legendary fantasy artist Frank Frazetta, they continue to do what they’ve always done, which is kick out the jams, early, often and with authority.

The title track which opens the album adds a little touch surf rock to their punk n roll, while “Reptile Minds” kicks everything into a higher gear. “Cosmos Redshift 7” and “Thing Withing” are high test blasts of rock action. “The Day The Earth Caught Fire” adds a bit of a metal-ish gallop to the proceedings. “Blind Swordsman” adds some touches of Sergio Leone inspired twang, along with the rock, which is fitting considering that Zatoichi, is one of the greatest Eastern series inspired by westerns. Closer “X City” opens with a high speed Chuck Berry riff, then shifts to a higher gear, before adding some drum breaks and guitar accents, before going totally balls out for its final quarter. It’s quite a way to end the album. All guns blazing.

One Fifteen is one mega dose of high impact rock action. If it doesn’t get you to crank up the stereo, crack open a beer and throwdown, then I don’t know what will. We might have to check your pulse.
