Album Review: Molly Burch – Please Be Mine

Molly Burch
Please Be Mine
(Captured Tracks)

The first album from the Austin transplant, Burch’s songs of love and loss are set to the sounds of decades past, where her soulful touch and wistful stories are laced with inspiration from ’60s girl groups and retro-pop harmonies that draws parallels to Patsy Cline. Heavy on the reverb and light on the overdubs, Burch’s vocal work is nothing short of stunning, as her work pieces together the best moments of surf-rock, dream-pop, and rustic country, with incredible guitar work to boot. Burch could very well be a future household name.
