Erik Stephansson as Suntrodden returns with another EP of pleasant keys, acoustic guitars and analogue synth, while Suntrodden’s most important asset, his warm and memorable melodies, are among the best he’s produced to date. Often bringing to mind both The Beatles and Elliott Smith, Stephansson also has a soulful sense of tenderness that makes “Moonflower” one of the best piano ballads you’ll hear in 2017. Apparently this installment concludes the Suntrodden EP trilogy; let’s hope there are more endeavors on the horizon.
