Single Review: The Spiders – “Election Day”

The Spiders
“Election Day”
(Self-Release)

This trio from New Jersey has something on their mind on this new track and it’s about the state of the current political climate and the election, as you might tell from the song title. A poppy, punky rocking tune that is catchier and more fun than politics, and makes more sense than the insanity going on right now during this election.

The trio consisting of Nick DeStefano (lead guitar, vocals), Nestor Arcelay (drums, vocals), and John Henderson (bass) is hoping that in some way, however large or small, that people will go out and vote and exercise their voices. The song is short and to the point with a thick sound and so catchy that you will be singing along with it right away. The playing is tight with chunky guitar playing, fat bass and a thumping beat that makes you want to get up and dance along. The vocals are clear and smooth, but strong and you can hear the band’s heartfelt feeling of how important this topic is for them, and should be for everyone.

A great and pumping song that really shows that it is important to be informed and to go out and vote to show that you are trying to affect some sort of change. With this song being so good and full of meaning, it makes me really look forward to their next release and hope that people take this song to heart, with every election in the future as well as the presidential race.
