Though Portland, Oregon stalwarts Fruition’s newest work might be themed around heartbreak, listening to the folk rocker’s 5th album isn’t exactly a bummer affair. While there’s a fair share of warm, reflective twang present, upbeat and high energy tunes makes up some of the best of the bunch here. Often exploring their rock’n’roll tendencies, plenty of sing-a-longs, fuzzed out guitars and lush, full atmospheres are present, though blues, funk and jam band influences are still dished out in ideal amounts, too. If you haven’t explored Fruition yet, well, now is the time.
