We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of The Rocket’s music video for their song ” Focus” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Another Reason Not To Fear The Sky.
The band commented on the song:
It’s a very personal song, about dealing with loss. Or rather: about not dealing with it for way too long. The track has an uptempo kind of energy to it; we really let our inner Four Year Strong demons out in the intro, ha. In our minds, the song serves as a mission statement for the rest of the album: time to get back from hibernation and literally regain focus.
“Focus” is punchy and impactful, with a big strong hook. The band have a super keen ear for infectious melodies and an illustrious live reputation, having been invited to play festivals such as Groezrock in the past. In their own words they write “it’s-all-gone-to-hell-songs disguised as happy songs” and that rings true here, with “Focus” being one of the heaviest (lyrically) tracks the band has written to date. It centres on the death of a close friend, the struggle to deal with it, and the difficulty in trying to pull yourself out of self-pity and channel your energy into something more constructive.
