ROMP Stream New Album ‘Departure From Venus’

ROMP are now streaming their debut album Departure From Venus in full (listen below). Departure From Venus will be released March 4th via Bad Timing Records. Pre-orders for the album are available now.

ROMP signed to Bad Timing Records in 2015 after the release of their EP Sorry, Not Sorry. Now with new drummer Mike Linardi, ROMP are excited to showcase their expansive “angry pop” sound on their first ever full length record. Quotes from Madison Klarer and guitarist Lucas Dalakian on the record can be found below.

“This album marks a big change in my life. This was written and recorded during the second half of college which also happened to be the time that I was establishing an identity for myself. I really struggled with this after high school and it took me a long time to actually believe in myself. The journey to this point is told through all of these songs…and I’ve never been more sure of myself, I’ve never been more proud of my friends.” -Madison

“We wrote this record over the summer of 2015 and recorded it over 3 or 4 days with Jesse Cannon and Mike Ottenger trying to build off what we did on our first EP. We wanted to write songs that were going to be catchy enough for people to sing, and fun for us to play live. Their efficient workflow allowed us to try a lot of ideas in a concentrated time frame, and they helped us realize the songs and reshape a few of them. Since we had more room for variation then a 4 song EP we were able to write some more musically adventurous stuff like Naner Manor (named after the house I live in, and throw DIY shows in). I think we’ve grown as band too, and we hope you dig what we came up with.” – Lucas
