Ohio’s Secret Space have premiered a vibrant music video for their song “PxCz.” The song is dizzying, allowing for lead singer Dean Tartiglia’s vocals to pull the listener into focus. The music video captures that perfectly, with unique color patterns capturing different fauna in between shots of people singing the tune. The song is off of The Window Room, released earlier this year via Equal Vision Records. Catch Secret Space on tour with Anthony Green and Mat Kerekes (Citizen).
Tartaglia had this to say about PxCz, “Back when I started writing this song, in early 2014, I was in a pretty terrible place mentally and emotionally. My mind set was pretty blank and I was burnt out on music. I just felt super numb and uninspired by everything, so the lyrics didn’t mean anything at the time, but I chose to keep them because I thought it was a super honest/real representation of that specific period in my life,” reveals Secret Space vocalist Dean Tartaglia. “When I look back on where this song started and where I am now as a person, the song is proof that I was able to change for the better. The lyric/word that sticks out throughout the song is “effervescent”. I’m not sure why it came to mind, but it was the first word I wanted to use for this song. Effervescent means lively/bubbly, which I definitely was not feeling at the time I wrote this song. Just a cool opposite of who I was at the time, versus who I am when I finished writing the song in the studio late last year.”
