We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Self Evident’s music video for their song “Lost Inside The Machinery” (watch it below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album by the same name, which is scheduled to be released on January 18, 2019 through doubleplusgood (US), Stiff Slack (Japan).
Self Evident vocalist Conrad Mach commented on the song:
This was the first song I wrote on the Fender Bass VI – I think I came up with the main riff pretty much after I unpacked the instrument and started toying around with it. This song came together very quickly in comparison to some of the other tracks on the new record. The lyrics were written during the July 4th holiday while I was house/dog sitting for Tom. I prefer to keep the lyrical content vague, although I was/am speaking to a specific person who I will not name.
About the band:
Hailing from Minneapolis, this experimental rock trio has been at it since forming in 1997 and it shows. Their sound recalls at times the indie jazz of Karate and Tortoise, the rhythmic interplay of Faraquet and Don Cabellero, and Shellac’s dissonance.
