Shadow Frost Music & Arts Festival Officially Announced

The same people who bring us Shadow Woods Metal Fest in Maryland every summer are now planning a winter fest for next year called Shadow Frost Music & Arts Festival. The fest will take place in February of 2020.

“Part of the reason I decided to try a winter fest is that I love winter but there doesn’t seem to be too much going on festival-wise at that time,” fest founder Mary Spiro told New Noise. “And it can get sad and depressing for some people. I thought perhaps Shadow Frost could be the antidote to that cabin fever. The other reason is that, while Shadow Woods Metal Fest was pretty popular with its outdoorsy, camping atmosphere, I still heard from people who just did not dig camping at all. But everyone seems to like the creature comforts of hotels. This event will be completely indoors. You will not have to go outside at all to go from the hotel to the performance space. The hotel also features an indoor pool, which should be a further boost especially because it’s in pristine condition thanks to a reliable pool cleaning service. We plan to have other activities, such as a room for board games and a room for visual arts display, possibly a curated art show. There will also be workshops like we had at Shadow Woods. This fest will feature underground music but have somewhat of a ‘convention’ vibe.”

The lineup is yet to be announced, but it will be in the next few weeks. So far we know that there will be indoor pools and hotels involved, so we’re in. Stay tuned here of follow them on Facebook for more updates.
