The Charming America tour rolled in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 25, 2015. The tour is lead by Swedish heavy metal legends In Flames with support coming from All That Remains and Wovenwar.

After As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis was arrested, the remaining members began writing new music with Shane Blay of Oh, Sleeper. Wovenwar released their self titled Wovenwar in August of 2014. Wovenwar started their set off with “Foreward” followed by “All Rise” and “Death to Rights.” This immediately got the crowd moshing and singing along to other hits like “Profane” and then ended the set with “Prophets.” Wovenwar left a great impression on all of the metal fans from Salt Lake City.

Next up was Massachusetts born heavy metal band All That Remains. All That Remains really needs no introduction, as they have been a fan favorite since forming in 2000 after frontman Phil Labonte was asked to leave Shadows Fall due to “musical differences.” Phil had been working on All That Remains as a side project and in 2001 decided to focus all of his time and energy into this band. All That Remains started their set of with “No Knock” from their album The Order of Things which had been just released the day prior. They followed up with “Stand Up” and “Now Let Them Tremble.” All That Remains blasted through many of their hit songs like “What If I Was Nothing” and ended their energetic 10 song set with one of my favorite songs “This Calling.”

All That Remains

After much anticipation the legendary Swedish band In Flames took the stage and proceeded to melt everyone’s faces off for the next 16 songs. In Flames played many songs that have spanned over their amazing 25 year career. “Embody the Invisible” from the album Colony started the night off with a bang and immediately went into hits “Clayman” and “Bullet Ride” from one of my favorite albums of theirs “Clayman.” In Flames destroyed the rest of the evening with 16 hits from many of their 11 of their studio albums. “Take This Life” and “My Sweet Shadow” ended the show with everyone singing along and in awe from the unreal set that was just blasted through their ears. In Flames brings an amazing lighting rig with them on the tour that adds just the right ambience for their amazing shows.

This has been one of my favorite shows to shoot in quite some time and I was glad to finally have crossed In Flames off my bucket list of top bands to shoot. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
