In a time in the music scene where it seems like a sincerity for the art, the fans and the overall experience is at a premium, Stick to Your Guns is one of the remaining bands that cherish that concept. The passion for their craft and for their fans, no matter if they’re playing a small one hundred cap DIY space or a venue with a couple thousand cap as is with their current tour with Architects, is evident. Their one off date that they played in Rochester, NY with tour mates Counterparts at the California Brew Haus falls in between those two extremes.

It had been a few years since I’ve seen Stick To Your Guns in the space of a venue instead of an outdoors fest such as Warped Tour or Montebello Rockfest, but that sheer level of energy and intensity was still there. For real, if you can find someone that can do just as many jumps at the height that Josh James can pull off per set please send them my way. As for their set list, there couldn’t have been a set list that had more fan favorites and bangers on it for a headlining set. Spanning essentially their entire discography, songs like “Empty Heads,” “Nobody,” “We Still Believe” and slower jam off of their EP, The Suspend.

I should've been born during the era of 80's glam rock. Pikachu whisperer. Live by the pickleback, die by the pickleback. Caffeine runs in my veins.
