I said it before, I’ll say it again; a Terror show in Los Angeles just hits different. Nothing can really compare when they’re home.

Terror announced this tour just about three months ago, a tour that will see most of America as they make their way to Furnace Fest in a couple of weeks. This time around, they bring three of hardcore’s up-and-coming heavy hitters which was an indication that this tour was about to go absolutely bananas!

The setting for the first of five California dates was in one of L.A.’s new rising neighborhoods, the Lodge Room in Highland Park. Although the Lodge Room isn’t really known for throwing Hardcore shows, the second story venue was quickly packed and the show got rolling.

First up was Orange County’s Dare. They didn’t waste a single second and just dropped a big ass ball of energy to the crowd. The band just put out a new record a few weeks ago on the legendary Revelation Records, and I couldn’t be more stoked for these boys. They really represent Orange County Straight Edge well.

One Step Closer is one of those bands who I’ve always heard from people but never actually listened to their music. Then I listened to the latest release and was completely blown away.

Their set from start to end was absolute madness and calmness at the same time. I highly suggest getting into this band if you haven’t yet. Their new record is coming in a couple of weeks, be on the lookout for that.

What can I say about Drain that you probably don’t know already? Sammy has gotta be one of the most charismatic people in hardcore. I’ve never seen anyone get an entire crowd rilled up and moving once he’s on the mic. I love Drain, and you should, too!

Terror closed the night with the usual, in-your-face set. Mosh pits, stage dives, sing-a-longs, the whole nine yards. It’s been three years since Terror put out new music, but you can tell that most of these songs stand the test of time coz people are still going off! At the end of the day, Terror is still Los Angeles hardcore’s finest.

Another show in the books; I’m glad a lot of show-goers are still masking up. Let’s keep this up, yo! Mask up and Vaxx up!

You can’t deny the keepers of the faith.
