We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Dayshell’s new song “Improvise” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming sophomore album Nexus, which will be released on October 7th through Spinefarm Records.
Dayshell features Shayley “Dayshell” Bourget, formerly of Of Mice & Men, who shocked fans everywhere when he left Of Mice & Men in 2012 after three years and two albums and quickly formed Dayshell.
Shayley Bourget comments on the song: “Have you ever been in a relationship with someone and there comes a time and a place, where you have to give up on it… for them? It’s about giving up to give in.”
You could say that Dayshell found their “center” on the appropriately titled, Nexus. The Southern California group’s second full-length album and first for Spinefarm Records represents the culmination of a delicate evolutionary process for the musicians—Shayley Bourget (vocals, guitar), Jordan Wooley (bass), and Zack Baker (drums).
The new song comes after Dayshell’s recent news of signing to Spinefarm Records.
“We would like to take a moment and proudly announce that Dayshell have officially signed with Spinefarm Records,” said Shayley Bourget. “Words can’t express how happy we are to continue making music and doing what we love. We are so happy to be apart of the Spinefarm family and can’t wait to see them work their magic and help have our music heard.
“On a side note, for those of you that didn’t know, Zack Baker is now our new official drummer. He killed it on the new album and we are stoked to have him with the Trio. so please show your support and welcome him to DayShell with open arms!”
