We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Death Therapy’s new song “The Lie” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s upcoming full-length album The Storm Before The Calm, which is scheduled to be released on February 24th through Solid State Records. The album can be pre-ordered here: http://smarturl.it/solidstore

Death Therapy is the new project from Jason Wisdom (who previously fronted progressive death-core outfit, Becoming The Archetype from 1999 to 2011). In his new project however, Wisdom blends metal with electronic/industrial, goth and post-punk elements.

Jason Wisdom commented on the lyrical themes of the album:

“In the years since I left BTA, I’ve faced, and still continue to battle, a lot of personal struggles. I feel like a lot of Christian metal bands like to write about the end times Armageddon, and the like – I definitely did when I wrote for BTA – but this time around, what I needed to say was something more personal, more internal and not being afraid to confront things head on, when the solution may not seem clear. I feel like anything else wouldn’t be true to what I’ve been through, and where I’m at right now. Sometimes life sucks. Sometimes I feel depressed. But I still have hope. And I feel like I should be able to say those first two things without sugar coating them.”

  1. I’m a huge Becoming The Archetype fan and have always been a fan of Jason’s vocals. Although I believe him leaving BTA was sad; it’s good to see him continuing with his music.

I’m not too sure about the style. The metal and electronic stuff sometimes gets on my nerves but this could be ok. I’m just not a Rob Zombie and Korn kind of guy cause it tends to suck.

    • He also joined forces with Alex Kenis (BTA guitarist circa Physics of Fire) a few years back to release a melodic death metal album under the name Solamors. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already :-)

  2. Reminds me of way Old School tracks created by Klank if you remember Tooth and Nail.
I like this very much so far. BTA fan since inception.
