We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Skin Drone’s new song “City Lights” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Evocation, being released on June 14th through Bluntface Records.
“‘City Lights’ is based on the Mason Verger story. Mason Verger is the man who was fed copious amounts of drugs and eventually ripped his face off with shards of glass and fed it to his dogs. In the original story, it was Hannibal Lector who did this. In our version of events, he feels like God told him to do it to purge himself of sin and unholiness. This was probably the most difficult song we wrote as a band, there were a lot of layers that eventually either didn’t work or were changed to get to the version you are now hearing.”
