We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of Beechwood’s new song “Nero” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Inside the Flesh Hotel, which is scheduled to be released on June 8, 2018 through Alive Records.
Gordon Lawrence of Beechwood commented on the song:
‘Nero’ is a song that we’ve been playing live for quite some time. It’s based on a driving guitar line that just takes off and goes for however long feels right. We usually close our sets with ‘Nero.’ It really gets the crowd (and us) moving. Sometimes the song lasts two minutes, and sometimes it lasts ten. It’s a groove, and we decided to keep it a groove, as opposed to sitting down and trying to write lyrics over it. Our live shows get pretty chaotic a lot of the time, and “Nero” is just one of those songs that really hits hard. It’s always a great feeling to be playing in front of a very energetic, frantic crowd.
About the song:
From two-minute pop perfection, to the sound of drug-induced nightmare psychoses, the trio’s music hits you where it hurts. Gordon Lawrence (guitar/vox), Isa Tineo (drums/vox) and Sid Simons (bass/vox) are drawing their rock n’roll line in the dirt… Which side are you on?
Beechwood’s newest single, “Nero,” is a fuzzy, unhinged instrumental track that is both gritty and captivating. Gordon Lawrence’s intermittent shrieks can be heard towards the back of mix, while the dirty tone of the guitar and drums take over. The members of Beechwood seem to be sparking their own revolution by way of noise and disregard for structure.
