We’re pleased to bring you the premiere of post-hardcore quartet Dark Spring’s new song “Fifth Floor Serenade” (listen below). The track is taken from the band’s forthcoming album Chain Letter 13, which is scheduled to be released through Escapist Records.
Ohio’s Dark Spring, which started as a solo project for Ages guitarist Carson Ward, brings together a refreshing mix of influences from bands like Hum, Seaweed, and The Promise Ring. The band offer up sharp, focused youth anthems filled with atmospheric fuzz, infectious yet moody melodies, and dynamic song structures.
Dark Spring is part of a recent cast of bands shedding light on a highly influential era of music. With the breakout success of bands like Nirvana, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Slowdive in the mid 1990’s a whole new spectrum of music was revealed to millions of unsuspecting ears. The lasting effect of this shift in the music landscape can be found in today’s bands like Dark Spring and their contemporaries – Title Fight, Balance & Composure, etc. – as they bring their own take on a sound that changed music forever.
Chain Letter 13 was recorded and mastered by Steve Perrino at Compass Audio Studios and will be available as a 12” LP, including a custom variant created by Wax Mage Records. Chain Letter 13 is currently set for Fall 2017 vinyl/digital release. Stay tuned for more details on exclusive pre-orders in the coming weeks.
